Coupons are incredibly helpful to the everyday shopper, so their rise in popularity shouldn’t come as a surprise. They help save a few extra dollars on planned purchases, and these savings can really add up over time.
The internet has only made getting these coupons and discounts much easier. I remember when I had to cut out coupons from newspapers and then remember to use them. Now, there are a lot of coupon code websites that can help you cut costs on a variety of purchases.
Should you trust all coupon code sites?
Don’t get carried away with all the hype surrounding coupons, though, sis. Scams are still very real, and you could be signing up for illegal phishing schemes.
When hunting for coupons online, you need to make sure that you’re using websites and services that are 100% safe. Usually, unsafe or illegal websites will ask for details upfront, like your credit card information. Other times, these sites will have typos in their web copy. Another good way to tell if a site is real is to check its reviews elsewhere on the internet. But some scams have gotten so good at disguising themselves as legitimate that it can be hard to tell. Note that some stores will have different cashback percentages, so it’s good to shop around for the best prices.
2. Ibotta
Ibotta is a coupon and cashback app that is especially helpful when grocery shopping. You’ll be asked to do a handful of tasks after every purchase when using the app. These tasks are ones that you may already be doing anyway, like writing a review or providing proof of purchase. I just have it open on my phone while shopping, and it really helps me save money.

Don’t want to do the coupon hunting yourself? The Honey app and browser extension will do it for you! Honey will automatically search the net for any available deal on the items you’re shopping for when making a purchase. Best of all? The service is entirely free!
If you’re willing to spend the extra cash, though, then it might be worth it. A Honey Gold membership lets you get a bit of additional cashback. That means if you use the app enough, it may even pay for itself!

While Swagbucks is primarily a service that can help you earn money by doing internet tasks, they also offer coupons. Signing up is completely free, and you may even get cashback deals when doing online shopping.

Free Shipping is a website that will automatically compare prices from various stores, so you’ll always be getting the best price. Additionally, they offer a minimum of 10% cashback deals on purchases while also giving you rebates on shipping charges.
It does cost about $13 a month, though, so it would only be worth it if you use their service a lot. However, they offer a trial period for you to try out their service. If you think you’ll be using coupon code sites a lot, then this might be one worth subscribing to.

Groupon is a coupon service that lets you get great deals on restaurants, travel, and services. But they have offerings for just about everything from electronics, jewelry, and more. They offer coupons for over 11,000 stores nationwide, so they likely have something for your favorite store.

Savings.com is one of the more straightforward coupon code sites. They offer discounts on stores like The Gap, Macy’s, and Kohls. They also feature deals for restaurants in your area. It’s free, so it’s worth checking out.

If you prefer shopping in grocery stores than through a computer screen, you should use Smart Source. This service features a super easy “click and save” printing system for their coupons. Typically, they offer coupon categories such as baby products, personal care, household items, and more.

While other coupon code sites try to get coupons for as many stores as possible, Hip2Save works differently.
